Lobbying issues and bill citations
To discuss the response to changes in federal student loan by nonprofit and state-based education loan organizations. Request support for the State Based Education Loan Awareness Act that would allow institutions of higher education to inform students of nonprofit and state-based education loans without triggering onerous preffered lender list rules if the nonprofit/state-based organization offers loans with fees and interest rates equal to or less than the federal PLUS program. Release appropriated funds for federal servicing, extend account maintenance fees, revise the guarantor voluntary flexible agreement, obtain an update on changes to federal servicing and default collections.
