● Communications and planning with Hill staff and assist Client with participation in an AK Seafood Summit with the Secretary of Commerce and NOAA; provide information and strategic advice on two Executive Orders related to American seafood (13921) and U.S. maritime power ● Inform Client of the ongoing ad hoc coalition effort to oppose executive action designed to curtail commercial trawl and menhaden fishing and require forage fish management, including a nationwide industry letter sent to the President ● Participate in Hill staff discussions on MSA/ESA/MMPA reforms; provide ongoing MMPA reform recommendations as part of developing/refining draft legislation and share Client resolution with Hill staff; oppose the transfer of protected species management authority from NOAA to USFWS ● Provide feedback to Hill staff on pending legislation related to fishery disaster reform; provide information on GAO fishery disaster study and related congressional activity ● Monitor activities related to the H2B Visa program for the seafood industry ● Monitor congressional hearings on IUU fishing and forced labor in the seafood industry; provide information on tariffs related to US seafood products; report on NOAA MMPA comparability findings ● Monitor congressional hearings/markups/CR/NDAA/USCG reauthorization legislation for ocean-related issues and report to Client ● Ongoing monitoring and reporting on numerous marine/oceans issues including: status of marine sanctuaries in the region, MMPA issues; fishery disaster reform; VIDA status; OSW energy development & impacts on whales; WA-AK chinook salmon status and SRKW population issues; MSA reauthorization, Hill staff changes, National Seafood Strategy, ESA Alaska King Salmon petition Advice and guidance on NOAAs Tsunami Warning system and communications

Support for permit approval for City dock dredging project; engage with NOAA staff to ensure timely ESA permit processing
