Support democracy reforms, including public matching funds systems for congressional and presidential campaigns, voting rights protections, redistricting reforms, and strengthened campaign finance laws and enforcement. Support the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 14) which would restore, strengthen, and modernize the voting rights protections included in the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Oppose the nomination of Kash Patel to serve as Director of the FBI. Oppose the nomination of Harmeet Dhillon to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Justice Department. Oppose any Continuing Resolution that removes the Washington DCs longstanding authority to spend its locally raised tax dollars and manage its own budget. Support the Washington, D.C. Admission Act, to make Washington, D.C. a state (S. 51 / H.R. 51). Request that Attorney General Pam Bondi preserve and protect the independence and integrity of the legal profession, including opposing the use of the federal government to attack lawyers, law firms, and legal organizations for engaging in good faith representation of their clients.
