● Advise Client on opportunity to provide comments to NOAA on executive order RE: American Seafood Competitiveness; Client signed national letter on the EO ● Provide Client with information/implications of the federal government shutdown; status of funding for commercial fishing industry liaison in FY26 Agriculture legislation ● Participate in Hill staff discussions on MSA/ESA/MMPA reforms and hearing preparations; provide ongoing MMPA reform recommendations as part of developing/refining draft legislation; continue to oppose the transfer of protected species management authority from NOAA to USFWS; provide Client with West Coast Take Reduction Team (TRT) strategic advice ● Provide feedback to Hill staff on implications of H.R. 5699; advise Client on ESA reforms in H.R. 1847 and related SBA roundtable opportunity; advise Client on ESA comment letter ● Monitor federal agency activities and legislation related to IUU fishing and forced labor in the seafood industry; report on NOAA MMPA comparability findings and status of industry-driven litigation ● Monitor Offshore Wind developments, related EOs, and track BOEM activities; engage with Hill staff on OSW implications of the SPEED Act (H.R. 4776)
