CIRT/Build America Local coalition (a) urged President-elect Trump to repeal Bidens EO 14063, and (b) called upon Congress to pass the Fair & Open Competition Act eliminating Bidens EO 14603, and related rule mandating use of PLAs for Federal Construction Projects over $35 million. As part of the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace, CIRT opposes a bill introduced S.844 the Faster Labor Contracts Act seeking to force contract terms without consent of the employees or companies. CIRT joined the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace, on two letters regarding similar/companion matters: (a) to raise concerns regarding Sen. Josh Hawleys labor policy legislative framework, and (b) to urge opposition to that framework being incorporated into the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act in the new Congress. [Regulatory Matter] CIRT/Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity (PPWP) coalition urged Department of Labor and Department of Justice to abandon the Trump administrations defense in federal courts of the DOLs 2024 final rule altering the overtime regulations under FLSA entitled Defining and Delimiting the Exemption for Executive, Administrative, Professional, Outside Sales, and Computer Employees (RIN 1235-AA39). [Regulatory Matter] Joining with the Coalition for Workplace Safety, CIRT submitted comments regarding OSHAs Heat Injury & Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings Proposed Rule Docket (OSHA-2021-0009), to voice concerns with the one-size-fits-all approach to the proposed rule, creating requirements that are unworkable for many companies, while providing little benefit to workers. The letter urged the agency to modify the rule to be more flexible to tailor solutions that meet circumstances of the workplace involved.

CIRT joined Family Business Coalition and FBETC, broad cross-sections of organizations and companies, to strongly support introduction and passage of a new Death Tax Repeal Act of 2025 in the 119th Congress. The MAIN STREET coalition, joined by CIRT, voiced support for a proposed bill Main Street Certainty Act of 2025 that seeks to make permanent the 20% deduction for small- and family-owned businesses (Section 199A). CIRT, as part of the MAIN STREET coalition, urged Congress to prevent massive tax hikes on businesses by quickly adopting the House budget resolution before the body. [Regulatory Matter] The MAIN STREET coalition & CIRT asked the Administration to take prompt action on preventing, streamlining, and/or curtailing the overreach of overly broad application and rules related to the implementation of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) [Regulatory Matter] CIRT joined the MAIN STREET coalition letter applauding the Department of the Treasury and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen) for issuing interim revising the beneficial ownership information (BIO) reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).
