● Inform Client of the ongoing ad hoc coalition effort to oppose executive action designed to curtail commercial trawl and menhaden fishing and require forage fish management, including a nationwide industry letter sent to the President ● Participate in Hill staff discussions on MSA/ESA/MMPA reforms; provide ongoing MMPA reform recommendations as part of developing/refining draft legislation; oppose the transfer of protected species management authority from NOAA to USFWS ● Provide feedback to Hill staff on pending legislation related to fishery disaster reform; provide information on GAO fishery disaster study and related congressional activity ● Monitor activities related to the H2B Visa program for the seafood industry ● Monitor congressional hearings on IUU fishing and forced labor in the seafood industry; provide information on tariffs related to US seafood products; report on NOAA MMPA comparability findings ● Monitor congressional hearings/markups/CR/NDAA/USCG reauthorization legislation for ocean-related issues
