Educate Members and the Administration about the pork supply chain; advocate for pork producers due to economic harm from supply chain and other market disruptions; and educate policymakers about emerging infectious diseases in the pork industry. Monitor and advise on policy developments pertaining to market oversight and competition matters, including the revocation of the Biden Administration's Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy, the Packers and Stockyards regulation, and other relevant legislative efforts. Monitor USDA FSIS swine modernization efforts. Monitor the development of H.R.8646, the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agency Appropriations Act of 2027; and advocate for funding for the U.S. Swine Health Improvement Plan. Monitor the Farm Bill reauthorization process, including H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026; and educate Members on industry priorities, including on the pork supply chain. Monitor regulations related to nutrition.
